A Brownfield Reclamation Project...

This project, centered on mixed-use development, is located along the Anacostia River in Washington, D.C. Michael wanted to focus on the idea of connectivity. The goal was to design community gardens and farmer’s markets to attract this sense of community and to bring more people to the Anacostia Waterfront.  The project location had several setbacks with several large highways cutting off access and the location being classified as a brownfield site. An extended Metro line and bus stops will help give this place new meaning and easier access to the waterfront.
