An Ecotourism Project...

The FDR National Historic Site, located in Hyde Park, New York, is currently in need of ecological preservation. Through this studio I examined preservation and ecological practices to help keep the historical significance of the property. The most viable solution was to reclaim the deteriorating wetlands and create a wetland buffer to solidify a home for the native wildlife. Community involvement and ecotourism were also valuable cornerstones to this project. A boardwalk trail system along the wetland areas were designed to provide an educational understanding of how the wetlands function and their importance.
